James W. Luksa, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in Ennis, Texas. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 17, 2015, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 18, 2015, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis. James was born in Rogers, Texas, to the late William Joseph and Loddie (Motl) Luksa. He grew up in Red Ranger, Texas. On April 25, 1964, James married Dolores Honza and they made their home originally in Dallas then moved to Bardwell. He worked as a driver and dock worker for Strickland Transport for 27 years and for Yellow Freight for seven years. James retired after 34 years as a member with the Teamsters’ Union 745. He was a member of the SPJST. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking out on the Bar-B-Que, making deer sausage. James enjoyed canning vegetables and fruits, but most of all cooking. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Joseph Luksa, Jr.; and sisters, Geneva Ann Luksa and Billie Louise Luksa. Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Dolores Luksa; brother, Marvin Luksa; and sisters, Shirley Waits and Janet Marek.
