Bio

He had been a resident of Corpus Christi since 1933 and had been employed by Southern Alkali Corp. and the Arabian Oil Company before beginning his work with the City of Corpus Christi as a city plumbing inspector, in 1947. His survivors include his wife, Mrs. Freda Baker of Corpus Christi; three sons, Robert D. Baker, Jr. (died 2004, age 78) and Cecil E. Baker of Corpus Christi, and James N. Baker, stationed with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines; a brother, Julius Baker of Monroe, La.; and two sisters of Louisiana. (Corpus Christi Caller, Texas, April 24, 1953)
