Bio

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Gary Rainey, Sr., age 80, of Moselle, MS, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Jones & Son Chapel at Moselle. Bro. Brad Brownlee and Bro. John Sumner will officiate with burial to follow in the Fairfield Cemetery at Moselle. Mr. Rainey died April 11, 2015 at Forrest General Hospital. Serving as pallbearers will be Johnnie Wayne Barnes, Jeff Barnes, Mark Dickinson, Jonathan Corley, Michael Rainey, Robert Rainey, Russ Thompson and Jody Thompson. Mr. Rainey was a retired funeral director with Jones & Son Funeral Home. He was a member of the Fairfield Baptist Church and a US Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom T. and Lela Smith Rainey; grandsons, Eric Rainey (28937855) and Thomas Rainey (74924177). Gary is survived by his loving wife, Miriam “Billie” Rainey of Moselle; his son, Richard G. “Ricky” (Natalie) Rainey, Jr. of Moselle; two daughters, Lynn Rainey of Green Cove Springs, FL, and Lanell Rainey (Richard) Thornton of Columbus, MS; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Jones & Son Funeral Home at Moselle.
