Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sat., June 3, for Charles Kenneth "Charlie" Beeck, 81, Arlington, former Wentworth resident, who died on May 27, 2006, at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls. The services will be held in the Randall Funeral Home. Inurnment will be held later at Rosehill Cemetery in Wentworth. Beeck was born on July 6, 1924, at Wentworth to Jacob C. and Sadie (Winnie) Beeck. He grew up on the family farm and helped in the farming operation. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was stationed in Siapn, Japan. After his discharge, he returned to the farm. He married Phyllis Larsen on Sept. 2, 1952, at Pipestone, Minn. They farmed north of Wentworth until ill health forced his retirement. He later was employed at T&R Electric in Colman. He was a member of the Wentworth Presbyterian Church, Wentworth American Legion and Luverne VFW. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Arlington; a brother, Elmer (Delores) of Wentworth; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.
