Correctionville News, 20 October 1977, page 1: Clifford Edward Uhl Sr., 73, of Danbury, died Wednesday at his son's home in Oto. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Rev's. Robert Thiele, Walter Bruch and Robert Leiting officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Mapleton under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Mr. Uhl was born October 24, 1903, in Mapleton. He farmed in the Mapleton area until 1959 when he moved to Danbury. He worked at a Danbury elevator from 1959-1962 and at a Mapleton grain company from 1962 until retirement in 1965. He married Mercedes Reinbold January 19, 1925, in Mapleton. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include the widow, three sons, Alan of Jackson Heights, New York, Kenneth of Valencia, California, and Clifford Jr. of Oto, five daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Elaine) Collins of Mapleton, Mrs. Douglas (Joan) Glassel of Ida Grove, Mrs. Raymond (LaVonne) Friedrichsen of Danbury, Mrs. John (Colleen) Tjaden of Iowa Falls and Mrs. Dick (Sharon) Juelfs of Cushing, three brothers, Casper of Onawa, Jesse of Mapleton, and Joseph E. of Sioux City, one sister, Mrs. Cecil (LaVera) White of East Helena, Montana, 33 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, one brothers, a son who was killed while serving his country in Germany and a granddaughter.
