Herald Coaster, January 3, 2000: Funeral services for Charles L. "Charlie" Macek, 80, of Sugar Land, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard in Rosenberg. Rev. Harold Sellers will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Rodney Glendening, Darrell Chernosky, Terrell Smith, John Bliss, David Chernosky, and Jeffrey Chernosky. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Smith and Gregg Smith. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Mr. Macek was born Nov. 26, 1919 in Alief to Frank Macek and Mary Repka Macek. He passed away Dec. 31, 1999 in Sugar Land. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Macek, and his sister, Rosie Jochec. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carrie Chernosky Macek of Sugar Land; sons, Chuck Macek of New Mexico, Johnny Macek of Sugar Land, Billy Macek of Sugar Land, James Macek and his wife, Aline, of Sugar Land, and Anton Macek and his wife, Alice, of Sugar Land; a brother, Frank Macek Jr. and his wife, Rosa Lee, of Sugar Land; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard (FM 2218 and Highway 59) in Rosenberg. (281) 341-8800.
