Bio

Lorene Thiessen, 90, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at the Fountains of Canterbury in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born September 17, 1915, near Hinton, Oklahoma to Leonard and Merle Martin. Lorene graduated from Hinton High School and was united in marriage to Johnny H. Thiessen, October 17, 1934 near El Reno, Oklahoma. Lorene and Johnny farmed west of Hinton for more than 60 years. Lorene was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church in the community. She is survived by two sons, Don Thiessen of Hinton, OK, and Bob Thiessen and wife Patsy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughter Kristi Thiessen and grandson Stace Thiessen, both of Oklahoma City and great-grandson Jonathan Thiessen of Broussard, Louisiana. Lorene was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Merle Martin, husband Johnny H. Thiessen, one brother Billy Martin, and one sister Ila Wilcoxson. We will miss her and treasure her memories always. Our heartfelt thanks go to all of the staff of The Fountains at Canterbury in Oklahoma City and to Hospice Vista Care who were so kind and comforting during her time there. Funeral Services will be at the Hinton First United Methodist Church, Saturday, 10:00 am, May 27, 2006 with interment following at the Hinton Cemetery under direction of Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, Hinton, OK.
