Morrill - Funeral services for Veda (Metz) Andrews, 88, of Morrill, who died May 3, 1994, in Community Hospital in Torrington, Wyo., will be Friday, at 10:30 am in the Morrill Methodist Church with Dr. Richard Jacobsen officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Jones Mortuary in Mitchell in charge of arrangements. A memorial has be established to the Morrill Methodist Church. She was born Oct. 31, 1905 at Albion to Elmer and Katherine (Watson) Metz. Her early childhood was spent in eastern Nebraska. She moved with her family to Morrill, where she attended school. On Oct. 27, 1928 she married Alvie W. Andrews. They made their home in Morrill. In the early 30's she assisted doctors when they delivered babies in the home and then cared for the mothers and their families. During World War II she worked in the sugar factory at Mitchell and also the potato dehydrating plant at Mitchell. She worked as a dishwasher and cook for Don Beck at the Irish Shanty and then for Nick Harms and George Williams at the cafe which was renamed the Morrill Cafe. When she retired from the cafe, she worked at the Morrill school cafeteria for almost 10 years. She was a member of the Morrill Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors of America. Survivors include her neice and nephew Bea and Everett Munroe of Torrington, with whom she lived for almost 4 years; daughter and son-in-law Donna Faye and Raymond Jackson of Lyman; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sisters Effie of Haywood, Claif., and Thelma of Marietta, Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers and four sisters
