Source: Unknown, submitter received it from granddaughter Published: May 29, 1924 DEATH ANGEL CALLS FRANK JANOVSKY ----------------------------------------------------------- Former Railroad Man Passed Away at Home Early Friday Morning After Long Illness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Funeral Services for Mr. Janovsky Held Monday Frank Janovsky, well-known resident of St. James and one time railroad man of this city, passed away at his home here Saturday morning at 3:30 o'clock, following a serious illness which had confined him to his bed for eleven weeks. His trouble, it is thought, was brought on by a serious attack of influenza, which he suffered nearly four years ago, and although everything that medical aid or loving care could do to save him was performed the end came at the time above stated. A few weeks ago deceased was taken to Rochester, where a complete examination was made, but physicians there could do nothing to relieve him. Frank Janovsky was born July 7, 1889 on a farm New Prague, Minn., where he grew to young manhood. In 1908, he went to Gretna, Neb., where he resided for several years, and it was on Nov. 10, 1909, that he was united in marriage to Mabel Haney of Gretna. In 1913, the couple came to Minnesota, residing for a short time at Red Wing and coming here three months later. Upon his arrival here, deceased entered the employ of the Omaha railroad as a brakeman, and he filled that position until six years ago last September, when he started switching in the Omaha yards in St. James. Three years ago, he entered the employ of the Watkins Remedy company, for whom he worked until his illness became so serious that he was compelled to give up his activity in this line. Shortly after giving up this vocation, he became so seriously ill that he was confined to his bed until the end came. Deceased is survived by the sorrowing widow and four children Blanche, aged fourteen, Marjorie, aged ten, Virginia, aged six, and John, four. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert S. Janovsky of Montgomery, Minn., also survive him, as do three brothers and two sisters. He was a member of the B. of R. T. and the I.O.O.F. Funeral services were held at the home at 1:00 o'clock and at the M. E. Church at 1:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, Rev. Mondale and Rev. McLeod officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope cemetery. A large number of out-of-town relatives were present at the last sad rites, among them being all of his relatives and three sisters of Mrs. Janovsky. With the many friends of the family, we join in extending sincere sympathy in their bereavement.
