Bio
Funeral services for Sherry Lynnette Bell, 64, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 17, 2010, in the sanctuary of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church, 4390 Old Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Betty Swanson and Rev. Marcelle Crow officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 PM Saturday at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Ms. Bell passed away Monday, July 12, 2010. She was a retired school teacher with Monroe City Schools. She graduated from Louisiana Tech with a masters in Elementary Education and a specialist in Reading. Ms. Bell was preceded in death by her father, J. D. "Johnny" Bell; and brother, David Bell. Survivors include her mother, Marjorie Koller Bell; brothers, Steve Bell and wife Julia, and Dennis Bell and wife Pam; son, Chris Farmer and wife Kelly; daughter, Amy Prine and husband Steve; grandchildren, Kelsey, Cassidy, Hannah, Colby, and Jansen; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind a special friend and companion, James Duhon and family of Carencro; and her best friend, Jan Sims of Arcadia. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Avalon Nursing Home and the staff of Premier Hospice. Memorials may be made to Camp Quality Louisiana or to Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church Children and Youth Program.
