S. V. VANCE RITES HELD BRIGHAM CITY, Sept 22--The Third ward chapel was crowded Sunday with mourners when funeral services were held for Stewart V. Vance, who died at the Dee Hospital at Ogden Thursday night. The floral tributes were numerous. The services were presided over by Bishop H.W. Valentine, with J. Frank Bowring in charge. A quartet composed of Mrs. Connie M. Peters, Sevena Madsen, H. D. Woffinden and Henry Frogley sang. Invocation was offered by Hervin Bunderson, followed by a selection by the Echo male chorus of which Mr. Vance was a member. The speakers were Ephraim Johnson, Mathias Richards, Stanley Robbins of Ogden, Horace D. Cummins of Salt Lake, Henry Frogley, A. C. Pearson, President William C. Horsley and Bishop Valentine. Special musical numbers were rendered by Marjorie Stohl, A. W. Trenchard, Mrs. Connie M. Peters and H. D. Woffinden. Benediction was pronounced by B. C. Calf. A large cortege followed the body to the city cemetery, where interment was made. Published Monday Evening, 22 Sept 1924 page 3, column 2 in the Ogden Standard Examiner (Ogden, Utah).
