James Edward Carter, 56, of Ola died Wednesday, Aug. 25, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1948, at Dallas, Texas, a poultry and swine farmer employed by Christian Farms at Ola, a Vietnam veteran and an ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnie Carter; and his mother and stepfather, Bertie and Floyd McCullough. Survivors include a son, Jason Carter of Greenville, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Billy Fronterhouse of Celeste, Texas; two brothers, Riley Christian of Ola and Greg McCullough of Arlington, Texas; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Diana and Roy Martin of Rio Rancho, N.M., Katherine and Russell Manchen of Point, Texas, Patricia McCullough of Irving, Texas, and Lisa and Bill Coker of Commerce, Texas; four grandsons, Justen and Jarett Stark, and Brayden and Mavrick Fronterhouse; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Christian Farms at Ola. Arrangements are by Lemley Funeral Service. Honorary pallbearers include David Hellner, Daniel Hellner, Odie and Pat Bly, Walter Moore and Chasity Arnold.
