Floyd Dunavant Services for Floyd "Tookie" Dunavant, 80, of Hereford were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, in Rose Chapple of Gilliland-Watson Funeral Home, in Hereford, with Dr. Steve McElroy, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. He was assisted by the Rev. Vernon O'Kelly, pastor of First Methodist Church in Dimmitt. He died at 9:45 a.m. Sunday, February 19, in Deaf Smith General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Hollis, Oklahoma, and married Vivian Phillips on December 25, 1933, in Hollis. He moved from Bovina to Deaf Smith County in 1957. He was a farmer and real estate agent. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors included his wife; a brother, Grady of Floydada; a sister, Joy Wright of San Springs, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
