Bio
When Robert Glenn Camper was born on January 4, 1856, in Smith, Texas, his father, Robert, was 38 and his mother, Frances, was 31. He married Mary Caroline "Carrie" Gilliam on 16 Oct 1872 in Smith County, Texas and they had six children together. He then married Lula Moseley Geddie 17 Dec 1908 in Van Zandt County, Texas and they had one child together in 1910. He died on October 6, 1932, in Van, Texas, at the age of 76. Camper, CANTON HERALD, October 14, 1932: R.G. Camper, 79, Van farmer, and owner of land on which there are several oil wells, died on Thursday night, Oct. 6, at about 7 o'clock at his home. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Oct. 7, at 3:30 at the Union Chapel Methodist church of which he was a member, and the burial took place in the cemetery there under the direction of Thorndike Undertaking Company of Tyler. Surviving the deceased are three sons: W.L. Camper of Van, B.W. Camper of Austin, and E.G. Camper of Colfax; two daughters, Mrs. T.H. Wallace of Tyler and Mrs. J.A. Alexander of Grand Saline, and one sister, Mrs. Fannie Lummus of Colfax.
