Herald Coaster, October 13, 1997: Funeral services for Rosalie Janda Macha, 84, of Rosenberg, will be held on Wed., Oct. 15, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Don Ruppert will officiate the services. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. on Tues., Oct. 14, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. (FM 2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg. Deacon Don Ries will conduct a rosary on Tues., Oct. 14, at 6 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Mrs. Macha was born on Sept. 2, 1913 in La Grange to Louis F. Janda and Sophie Hilsher Janda. She passed away on Oct. 12, 1997 at Polly Ryon Mem. Hospital in Richmond. She attended Southwest Texas Univ. in San Marcos and graduated from the Univ. of Houston with a bachelor and masters degree. She taught school for 37 years, beginning in the rural areas of Fort Bend County, and finished her teaching career at Jane Long Elem. School in Richmond. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the KJZT, Holy Rosary Altar Society, and former President of the Retired Rosarians. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Macha, and her parents, Louis F. and Sophie H. Janda. She is survived by a daughter, Henriette Jalowy and her husband, Dr. James, of East Bernard; sons, Lawrence L. Macha and his wife, Mary, of Rosenberg, and Gerald C. Macha and his wife, Barbara, of Rosenberg; grandchildren, Paula Macha Burchfield and her husband, John, of Sugar Land, Kenneth Macha and his wife, Theresa, of Rosenberg, Dr. Jeffrey Jalowy and his wife, Dawn, of East Bernard, Karen Jalowy Lee and her husband, Dr. Jeff, of Amherst, NY, Jennifer Jo Macha and Matthew Macha, both of Rosenberg; great-grandchildren, John Jr., Katherine, and Luke Henry Burchfield of Sugar Land, Cameron Macha of Rosenberg, Miles and Austin Lee of Amherst, NY, and Zackary and Jakob Jalowy of East Bernard. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church's "Keep the Vision Alive" Fund or Holy Rosary Catholic School Endowment Fund.
