Grand Island (Nebraska) Independent April 1981 Donald I. "Doc" Everson, 75, of 604 W. Ninth died Monday morning at a Grand Island hospital. Services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. The Rev. George Wheat will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery. Mr. Everson was born March 2, 1906, at Phillips, Wis., the son of Hans and Etta Larson Everson. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force. He worked for his father in the logging business and later was a plasterer for nearly 50 years. He also worked for Bill Haney in Grand Island and worked for the Cornhusker Army Ammunition Plant for about eight years. He married Hattie Schwartz. In 1948 he married Bessie Baker in Omaha. They lived in Grand Island. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the American Legion, Senior Citizens and the American Association of Retired Persons, all of Grand Island. Survivors include his widow; three sons, Delmar of Prangville, Ore., Keith of Menomence Falls, Wis., and Myron of Milwaukee, Wis.; a stepson, Darral Watson and a stepdaughter, Beverly Watson Grotzky, both of Grand Island; two sisters, Teresa Brazelton of Naughton, Wis.; a brother, Kenneth, also of Phillips, Wis., 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
