Albert Vernon Simmel Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) - July 17, 1998 FORT WORTH - Albert Vernon Simmel, 77, died Wednesday, July 15, 1998, at a Fort Worth hospital. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Pilot Point. The Rev. Chris Steinle of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Gainesville will officiate. Burial: St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery. Albert Vernon Simmel was born July 2, 1921, in Tioga to the late Andrew and Evie Sparks Simmel. He married Jaromina Sherek on May 22, 1946, in Pilot Point. He worked at the Convair plant (General Dynamics) in Fort Worth for 15 years and retired in 1985 from the Fort Worth Sanitation Department. Mr. Simmel was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church in Fort Worth, the American Legion and Sons of Hermann. --rec'd from Jeanne Vogel, 23 Nov 2010.
