Bio
Sidley Henry Wagner of Houston, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2006, at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston. He was born February 8, 1944, in Freeport, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Vivian Wagner, longtime residents of Freeport; and his father-in-law, Finley Dittmar. Sid graduated from Brazosport High School and Texas Lutheran University. He was a former member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Freeport. He was an employee of M.D. Anderson Hospital since 1967, taking a two-year leave to serve in the U.S. Army, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. Sid is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon; his daughter, Melissa Compton and husband, Brian, and his grandchildren, Kyle and Sarah Compton of Cypress, Texas. He also is survived by his brother, Charles Wagner and wife, Margaret, of Lake Jackson; sister-in-law, Beverly Raschke and husband, Paul; and mother-in-law, Ora Dell Dittmar, all of Houston. Nieces and nephews are Meredith Raschke of Orlando, Florida, Christopher Raschke of Houston, Jill Stewart and husband, Brian, of Brenham, TX, Jenni Thompson and husband, Donny, of Lake Jackson, Chad Wagner and wife, Lisa, of Washington, D.C., and Jerica Wagner of College Station, TX. Sid also is survived by aunt, Edna Hickman, and uncle, Stafford Broaddus, both of Houston; and numerous cousins and friends. Information extracted from obituary in The Facts, May 16, 2006.
