Funeral services were held at the Hastings-Pearson chapel at 2 p.m. Monday for Joe Emil Kasper, 53 who had operated a shoe repair shop in Ord for the past five years. Kasper died suddenly Friday. He was the son of Edward and Antonia Kasper. Joe never married. He attended Ord High School for two years and then took training in shoe repairing at Spalding. He was employed at the Cornhusker Ordiance plant in Grand Island for two years during World War II. Joe made his home with his parents until their deaths some 10 years ago when he went to live with his brother George. George and another brother, Ed survive as do four sisters, Mrs. Sophie Sobotka, Mrs. Rose Babka of Ord and Mrs. Mary Frazer of North Loup. Also eight nieces and nephews. Rev. Allan W, Martin conducted the funeral service at which Sharon Mason was soloist, accompanied by Doris Perry. Pall bearers were Richard Petska, Don Cain, Bob Adamek, Pail Adamek, Cylvan Philbrick and Gary Miska. Burial was in the Ord Cemetery. "Ord Quiz"
