(Published in The Wheeler Times, Volume XVIII-Number 43, Wheeler, Texas, Thursday, October 4, 1951, Page 1,10) John J. Pugh, Hayward, Calif., born Jan. 6, 1900 in Wood County, passed away Aug. 18, 1951. Funeral services were held at the Church of God, San Leandro, Calif. with interement [sic] in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Hayward, Calif. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ona Walker Pugh, one son, Clyde Pugh and two daughters, Mrs. Sennett Coyle, Hayward, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph Machado, Rio Vista, Calif. Also his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Pugh, Mangum, Okla.; two brothers Tom and Lee both of Mangum and one sister, Mrs. Lennie Hobbs preceded him in death. Mr. Pugh was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Woodford Williams and Pierce Walker of Mobeetie and lived at one time in the Historic Old Mobeetie jail.
