Bio

Delva M. Coleman Scharrer, 80, died Friday, March 7, 2015 at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany. She was born in Crawford County, to the late William and Marie (Adkins) Sturgeon. She was retired after several years with the Louisville Bedding Company and was long time member of Greenville Christian Church. Survivors include her sons, Darrell Coleman (Janice), Floyds Knobs, Dennis Coleman (Deborah), Greenville and Neal Coleman (Julie), Borden; her daughter, Cheryl Murphy (Audrey), Floyds Knobs; sisters, Dorothy VanGilder, Louise Evans and Marjorie Young; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and her companion, Lewis Miller of Sellersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband Bob Scharrer; her first husband James Coleman; her brother, Gene Sturgeon; sister, Edna Chupp and grandchildren, Carmen Murphy and Dustin Coleman. A funeral service was Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at Greenville Christian Church. Burial followed in Greenville Cemetery, Greenville. Published in the Banner-Gazette 3/11/2015
