Mildred Lucille Morris Littlejohn, 89, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Everman, 501 W. Barron Ave. Interment: Everman Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Mildred was born Nov. 1, 1920, in Venus, Johnson County, to Charles Raymond Morris and Mary Edna Robinett Morris. She grew up in Maypearl, Venus, and Mountain Peak area. As a young lady, she met Alvin Wallace Littlejohn and they were married on March 27, 1941. Mildred enjoyed listening to country music and singing in the quartet at gospel meetings. Wallace and Mildred moved to Los Angeles, Calif., so he could work at Douglas Aircraft. Later they moved to Tulsa, Okla., where he was drafted into the Army Air Force. Mildred returned to Everman where their only child, Barbara, was born in 1944. Mildred, Wallace and Barbara have made their home in Everman since the mid-1940s where she was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Everman. She enjoyed working in the PTA and encouraging her daughter in her future. A Christian lady who always put others first before herself, she loved meeting people, making new friends, going to church and working in Bible School. Her hobbies included working in the yard, gardening, planting many flowers, serving others, cooking and Avon. Mildred was an Avon representative for over 50 years and won several awards and was honored in New York as one of the oldest representatives with as many working years. She loved her Avon, meeting friends and chatting with them on her route. She was a wonderful housewife, mother and Avon representative. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Charles R. Morris and Mary Edna Robinett Morris; sisters, Joyce Ray Morris and Thelma Goodwin; and her husband, Alvin Wallace Littlejohn. Survivors: Daughter, Barbara Jean Brand and husband, James Edward Brand, of Everman; sister, Frances Hadley of Benbrook; nieces, Kay Wolters, Joy Roberts and Janice Southard; and nephew, John David Guess.
