Jeanelle Strickland Slay, 85, passed away March 8, 2015, in a Mineral Wells hospital. Burial in McAdams Cemetery. She was born June 7, 1929, in Munday, Texas, the daughter of Weldon A. and Georgia Lemley Strickland. She married Jimmy C. Slay Sr. on Aug. 2, 1947, in Mineral Wells. She was a longtime resident of Graford. She attended church at Medlin Chapel, where her grandfather was a pastor. She is survived by her children and spouses, Sue and Sam Minton of Graford, Jimmy and Nancy Slay of Tyler, Roy and Joy Slay of Denton, and God-given sons, Juan and Salvador Feregrino and Randy Mallory; grandchildren and spouses, Patti Brown, Clinton and Jennifer Tuggle, Cyndi and David Dickey, Cari and Myles Bowman, Becky and John Gaddis, Patrick Slay, Lauren and Josh Chasnant and Marc and Amber Slay; God-given grandson, Donny Feregrino; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother and sister-in-law, Roy Payton and Tina Strickland; sister-in-law, Esther Cofer; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 2, 2005; her parents; sisters, Sue Nowak and Oudia Yarbrough; and brother, J.L. (Buddy) Strickland.
