Herald Coaster, March 24, 1987: Funeral services for John Edward Kossa, 80, of Needville, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Needville, with the Rev. Ludon Angelle as principal celebrant and the Revs. Eugene Heyck, C.S.B., and Kevin Thissen, O.P., as celebrants. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis-Dawson Chapel in Needville. Mr. Kossa, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the SPJST, died Sunday at his residence in Needville. He was born Aug. 8, 1906 in Ammannsville. Survivors include his daughters, Dorothy Flaherty of Houston, Beatrice Guidry of Page, Ariz., and Marie Sharp of The Meadows; two sisters, Mary Cernoch of Galveston and Hattie Mazoch of Rosenberg; a brother, retired Colonel Frank Kossa of Jeffersonville, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Davis-Dawson Funeral Home in Needville after 3 p.m. Tuesday.
