Fort Bend Herald, February 5, 2007: A funeral mass for Alexander J. Joswiak, 89, of Richmond, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2007, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. The Rev. Howard Drabek will officiate the services. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Alex was born July 11, 1917 in Chappell Hill to Wallace and Mary Kopycinski Jozwiak. He passed away peacefully after a short illness Feb. 3, 2007 at OakBend Medical Center in Richmond, with his family at his side. Alex was a dedicated and wonderful husband, father, and friend. He had a great passion for dancing, gardening, hunting, and fishing. He retired from the Texas Highway Department, was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond, as well as a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in Richmond. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace and Mary Jozwiak; brothers, John, Frank, Steve, Pete, and Paul; and sisters, Margaret Blazek and Cecilia Raymond. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Esther Nowak Joswiak; children, Leroy Joswiak and wife, Renea, of Richmond, Charles Joswiak of Rosenberg, and Janell Temple and husband, Dee, of Houston; grandchildren, Michael Ryan Joswiak of Rosenberg, Alexandra Elizabeth Temple and Kathleen McKinzie Temple of Houston; sibling, Albin Jozwiak and wife, Eunice, of Austin; along with numerous nieces and nephews, other family and friends. Pallbearers are Elliott Nowak, Brian Nowak, Stanton Nowak, Daniel Nowak, Gary Blazek, and Darrell Chaloupka. Memorial donations may be made in Alex's name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Building Fund, 507 South Fourth Street, Richmond, Texas, 77469.
