Funeral services for D.R. Hugghins, 77, brother of Joe Hugghins of Athens, who died at the home of a son, E.D. Hugghins, in Corsicana Monday afternoon, were held Tuesday afternoon from the Methodist Church in Chatfield with burial in the Chatfield cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. Stanford, Methodist minister of Chatfield. Mr. Hugghins, a native of Alabama, had resided near Corsicana since 1920. Before going to that section, he had resided in Cherokee county since he was six years of age. Surviving are ten children: Lester Hugghins, Malone; J.R. Hugghins, Palestine; O.H. Hugghins, Corsicana; B.B. Hugghins, Houston; E.D. Hugghins, Corsicana; Mrs. Ruby Parker, Waco; Forest DeWitt Hugghins, Lamesa; Mrs. Gertrude Osment, Hubbard; J.T. Hugghins, Malone; and Miss Irene Hugghins, Corsicana; seven grandchildren; two brothers: Joe Hugghins, Athens, and Oscar Hugghins, Rusk; a sister, Mrs. Martha Dismuke, Palestine and a number of nieces and nephews.
