Obituary Dallas Morning News June 8, 2005 Edo S. Biasatti died June 6, 2005. He was born in Houston on Oct. 4, 1931, and raised in Dallas. He attended Holy Trinity School, Jesuit High School, Henderson County Junior College and the University of Santa Clara. He is survived by his wife, Lucia; children, Helena Hill, Tony and Donna Biasatti, and Angel Biasatti-Barrett and Tommy Barrett, as well as four beloved grandsons, Stefan Biasatti, Joey Biasatti, Matthew Biasatti, and Tanner Hill; his brother Joseph Biasatti, many cousins, dear friends and associates. He was preceded in death by his nearest and dearest friend, his cousin, Dante Biasatti. Called "The Bear", he was known for his prowess on the football field and as a coach. He played in the first game at Rice University Stadium and was recently honored at the fiftieth celebration of the stadium. His teams won many championships. He scouted for the Cleveland Browns, Washington Redskins and other professional teams. He was inducted into the Jesuit Sports Hall of Fame at its inaugural inception and was recognized by the NCAA Football Hall of Fame. He was a Captain in the Artillery Division of the U.S. Army. He was a devoted supporter of Jesuit College Preparatory School and was named their Man of the Year. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and taught his son and grandsons the love of the sport. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. Edo was an Insurance Agent for Great American Reserve for over 35 years, was a lifetime member of the Millionaires Council, and qualified for all the awards offered by the company. During his tenure with the company he received the J. C. Penney National Community Service Award. He participated in many community affairs and fund raising events for schools, churches, and organizations, including the Dallas Police Departments Swat team. For many years he played Santa Claus at parties for needy children, at schools, and for his many friends children. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the established Edo S. Biasatti Scholarship Fund at Jesuit College Preparatory School, Dallas, Texas, or the Bronco Bench Athletic Scholarship Fund at the University of Santa Clara, Santa Clara, California. Pallbearers will be his four much-loved grandsons with Romolo Biasatti, John Biasatti, and Donnie Wilson. Rosary will be at 7:00 Wed. June 8, 2005 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 Noon on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Duncanville.
