Elsa Emma (Hellbusch) GoingJune 26, 1915 ~ February 6, 2015Born in rural Nance County, Nebraska, she passed away in Seattle, Washington after 99 fruitful years. She made a home many times over, as the wife of construction superintendent, traveling and adapting creatively right up until her final journey. Her family and extended family were her pride and joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; a daughter, Bonnie; and a grandson, Eric Griesbach. She is survived by a son, Carl (Kathrine), a daughter, Cate Luke (Greg), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Her skills and interests included sewing and quilting, baking, crosswords, piano, accordion, and traveling the world collecting souvenir spoons. Her loyalty to the Seattle Mariners baseball team was remarkable. She was at different times a choir member, a city employee, a costume provider for a ballet company, and an adept at comforting a cranky baby. No one ever left her home hungry. In lieu of flowers, Elsa requested remembrances to Hope Lutheran Church, 4456 42nd Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116 or Habitat for Humanity.Services will be at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 6701 30th Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98126, on Friday, February 27th at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.
