Herald Coaster, December 19, 2002: Funeral mass for Zigmund Starustka, 89, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Father Dan Warden will officiate the services. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Serving as pallbearers are Ben Pawlak, Ray Beers, Ronnie Cataldo, Robert Ficklen, Marvin Sliva, and Richard Sliva. Honorary pallbearers are Dean Dreyer and Marc Starustka. Visitation will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in the chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. in Rosenberg. There will be a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Zigmund was born March 29, 1913 in Orchard to Otto Starustka and Frances Marek Starustka, and he passed away Dec. 18, 2002 in Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Otto Starustka; his wife, Clara A. Starustka; his son-in-law, Doug Dreyer; his grandson, Randy Starustka; his brothers, Otto Starustka, Jr. and Emil Starustka; and his sister, Pauline Sliva. Zigmund is survived by his daughter, Margie Dreyer or Port Lavaca; his son, Jerry Starustka and his wife, Bernadette of Richmond; his grandchildren, Dean Dreyer, Sherry Ficklen and her husband, Robert, Laurie Beers and her husband, Ray, and Marc Starustka and his fiancee, Kathy; his great-grandchildren, Amberleigh Ficklen, Skyleigh Ficklen and Trevor Dreyer; and other relatives and many friends. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his honor to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
