Col. Ronald Bumgarner died at the age of 80. He retired from the Air Force Reserves as a Lieutenant Colonel. He graduated from Winfield High School in Kansas in 1952. He then embarked on an Active Air Force Career, hitchhiking to Colorado to enlist. He was first stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, California, his first overseas assignment was in Madrid, Spain, where he learned to speak fluent spanish. He completed College with a Degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1972 he opened a office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, for the W.J. Purdy Corporation. He successfully owned and operated Rontek, a Sales Representative Company he started in 1977 for 18 years. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, hunting, and piloting private planes, he was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Evelyn (Stonebreaker) Bumgarner and Raymond Bumgarner. He is survived by: His wife of 66 years, Laurel (Farson) Bumgarner-known as "Kay." Also a son Randal Lee Bumgarner, Two Daughters-Lisa Lynn Loudermilk and Darla Schueler, and his younger brother and only other sibling, Byron Bumgarner, plus 8 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
