Melba Singleton 1920 - 2015 Funeral services for Melba Singleton age 94 of McKinney will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Scoggins Funeral Home Chapel in Van Alstyne with Mark Allen and Johnny Bhojwani officiating. Burial will follow in the Van Alstyne Cemetery. She passed away Saturday in Waco, Texas. Melba was born September 24, 1920 in Van Alstyne to Charles and Katherine Gregory Brown. She married William Logan Singleton June 4, 1938 in Van Alstyne. She retired 3 times in her life, from Walmart, Hurricane Creek Country Club and Montgomery Wards. She is survived by her daughters, Elaine and husband Rodney Phillips of Waco, Texas, Norma and husband Ron Deal of McKinney, Texas and Diane Singleton of Sanger, Texas, 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson Kyle Phillips. Services are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home, 637 W. Van Alstyne Parkway, Van Alstyne, Texas 903-482-5225.
