Eugene (Gene) L. Hull, 89, passed away Friday, February 20, surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Dallas, Texas, May 4, 1925 and moved to San Antonio at the age of two. He graduated from Brackenridge High School before joining the U.S. Navy in 1943 to serve in World War II and after in the Naval Reserve. He worked 43 years with Southwestern Bell/AT&T with a perfect attendance record. He was a member of Telephone Company Pioneers and the former Bexar Squares Club. He currently was a long-time member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church and previously was a member of Central Baptist Church for 30 years where he was ordained a Deacon and served as secretary of the Deacon Board. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Alva Hull, Daughter, Vivian Mott, her husband, Brian, daughter, Sharon Eggleston (deceased), her husband, Tye. Grandson, Greg Mott, his wife, Chris, Granddaughter, Heather Heick., Great- grandsons, Blake Mott, Reagan Mott, Parker Mott and Great-granddaughters, Caitlin Mott, Helena Mott and numerous nieces and nephews and many great friends. The visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Shearer Hills Baptist Church, 12615 San Pedro. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
