April 5, 2001 Frank Nemec CLARKSON - Frank L. Nemec, 85, of Clarkson died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, at the Columbus Community Hospital Inc. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at New Zion Presbyterian Church in Clarkson with the Rev. Dr. Earl F. Underwood Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Clarkson National Cemetery with military honors conducted by Cornhusker Post 6419 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at Miller Funeral Home in Clarkson and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Mr. Nemec was born Oct. 31, 1915, on a farm near Clarkson to Frank and Alma (Jonas) Nemec. After his mother died at a young age, his aunt and uncle, Rudy and Clara Nemec, raised him. He helped them on their farm for many years. In addition to farming, he enjoyed repairing equipment in the shop. He served in the Army at Fort Sill, Okla., for a short time before being discharged due to health reasons. He married Helen Vlach Prasak on Nov. 3, 1977, at Fairbury. After they married, they enjoyed fishing and traveling to Texas for the winters. Survivors include friends, Slavy and Gerrie Vodehnal of Clarkson. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 28, 2000. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice.
