Bernard Francis Hendrickson, son of Alfred and Benedicta (Kaiser) Hendrickson, was born December 12, 1936 at Spalding, NE. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding and attended Spalding Academy, graduating in 1955. On April 18, 1959, Bernard was united in marriage to JoAnn Bremer at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Spalding. They made their home in Spalding where Bernard farmed. In 1969, they purchased the George Vandenberg Home where he expanded his owner/operator commercial truck-line and also continued to farm. Bernard was a member of the St. Michael’s Parish in Spalding, NE. He worked hard, having a work ethic that wouldn’t quit, which he shared with his daughters. He enjoyed trucking and visiting with friends and family. He loved his family, being a Dad, and spending time with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him Popper. He is survived by two daughters: Deborah Hendrickson and Ben Wagner of Spalding; Denise Sundberg and husband Jeff of Clarks, NE; eight grandchildren: Brian Hendrickson and wife Michelle of Spalding; Jason Wagner of Spalding; Shawn Wagner of Hastings, NE; Colin Wagner of Norfolk, NE; Kyle Wagner of Spalding; Meagan Sundberg of Clarks, NE; Melissa Sundberg of Primrose, NE; Aaron Sundberg of Clarks, NE; three great-grandchildren: Royce, Westyn and Maddie; one brother James (Nancy) Hendrickson and one sister Michaela (Dennis) McKay, all of Spalding; brother-in-law: Darwin (Teresa) Bremer and sister-in-law: Donna (John) Johnson, all of Albion. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife JoAnn in 1992, a son in infancy, parents-in-law Elmer and Josephine (Luft) Bremer, and a sister-in-law Betty Brengleman.
