Bio

Robert "Bob" Milligan, 85, died at his home on Feb. 9, 2015. Bob was born August 26, 1929 in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Jack and Elizabeth (Renz) Milligan. He lived in Fairburn, S.D. until his parents’ death in 1935. He was raised by Blanche and Sid Underwood in Torrington, where he attended school. He served in the U.S. Navy as a seabee from 1946 until 1950 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Patty Latta Dec. 22, 1952 in Gering, Neb. They made their home in Fort Laramie. They had four children: twin sons, Robert Jr. and Rudy, and two daughters, Tamara and Kim. He worked for the Pathfinder Irrigation District for 22 years and the Guernsey Stone Company for 15 years until his retirement in 1994. Bob served 10 years on the Fort Laramie Town Council and was a member of the VFW 4471 in Guernsey. He enjoyed doing yard work. Bob is survived by his sons, Robert (Carol) Milligan Jr. of Fort Laramie, and Rudy (Debbie) Milligan of Carlsbad, N.M.; his daughters, Tamara (Larry) Gorsuch of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Kim Davis of Grand Junction, Colo.; a foster sister, Arlyce Underwood and a foster brother, Paul Underwood, both of Orange, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; his foster parents; and a brother. © Torrington Telegram February 10, 2015
