Obituary Longtime Area Resident Myrtle Reeves dies at 84 Funeral services were held June 30 for Mrs. Myrtle Reeves of DeSoto at the Hampton Road Baptist Church and Rev. Douglas Beggs of Tennessee officiated. Burial will follow at Rawlins Cemetery in Lancaster where Mrs. Reeves was buried next to her husband Albert D. Reeves. She was born March 2, 1899 in Maury County, Tennessee. Mrs. Reeves moved to Texas in 1900 with her parents James Matt and Sara Brown ans settled in Sardis, Texas. She spent most of her life in that area and DeSoto. Survivors include six sons, J.D. Reeves of Paradise, Texas, Morris Reeves of Grand Prairie, Jerry Reeves of Cedar Hill, Bill Reeves, Douglas Reeves and Don Reeves of DeSoto; seven daughters, Ima Jean Reeves and Betty Reeves of Grande Prairie, Iia Faye Foster and Ruth Williams of Cedar Hill, Marjorie Nell Goodnight, Geraldine Forner and Juanita Starnes of DeSoto; 45 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren; brothers, Ollie Brown, Maurice Brown and L.T. Brown.
