Bio
Vicki Prather Sanders, a 40-year resident of Katy, Texas, is now enjoying the fullness of God's love and presence. She passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011 due to complications arising from her long battle with Parkinson's disease. Vicki was born in Muleshoe, Texas on October 25, 1945. She was raised in Earth, Texas, where she met and married her junior high school sweetheart, Marvin "Sandy" Sanders. They were married on August 4, 1962 and celebrated 31 years of marriage before he passed away from cancer on October 19, 1993. She is survived by her daughter, son and his wife, daughter-in-"love,", two sisters, and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bennie Prather; her father, Elmer "Babe" Prather; her sister, Carolyn Prather; as well as two of her brothers-in-law, Gene Stephens and Steve Larkin. Vicki loved her family and friends and cherished spending time together. She recognized the special qualities in everyone, and continuously encouraged others to use their talents and gifts for good. She was very proud of her family and loved sharing stories and photos of their daily life and accomplishments. She was a wonderful and faithful Christian, whose heart-warming smile and giving spirit made a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She was a strong believer in prayer and could always find the positive even in bad situations. Through the years, she was also actively involved in Christian Women's Organization, Women's Aglow, National Day of Prayer. She never tired of sharing God's love grace with others. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Katy, Texas. The community is invited to attend.
