Bio

We found him in the 1930 censes Records of Clinton, KY living with his dad and paternal grandparents. His dad was listed as divorced. John has remarried by 1940. Osceola Sloan, 92, passed to eternity very quietly Tuesday Feb. 3,2015 while holding the hand of his wife, Wanda Lee. He was born on July 15, 1922 a son of John Marsh and Myrtle (Wilson) Sloan. Osceola was named after the famed Seminole Indian Chief by his mother. He was educated in Albany, KY , joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a veteran of the Army Air Corp. during WWII , After he wsd honorable discharged his career was with Steel fabrication working at the Pan American Bridge Co. in New Castle and several other steel companies around Indiana. He was a member of the First Baptist Church -New Castle where his served as a deacon and various service committees. He also attended the First Church of the Nazarene -New Castle with his wife and family. Ceola was a 32 degree Mater Mason, member of the New Castle Lodge $01, FLAM, the Scottish Rites of Indianapolis and 50 year lifetime member of the Knights of Pythias-New Castle #33. Ceola is survived by his wife, his Childhood Sweet heart, of 71 years, Wanda Lee (Koger) Sloan. a daughter Dee Snider-Ohio, son Bob and his wife, Steve and his wife; 4 grandchildren; 4 sons John and Cari, Robert and Janet, Gary and Christie, Tony and Tonya; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several half -sisters and brothers-in-law. Preceded by his parents, sisters Frances Robbs and her husband Dick, Wade Best and her husband Wayne; daughter-in-law Linda (Pattengill) Sloan. Burial Central Grove Cemetery.
