FOUND DYING ALONG TRACK -- GEORGE [ic] L. FORREST Fatally Injured. Dies on way to hospital. Was a plasterer and had been living in Hagerstown for several years. Justice Hoffman called to scene but decided inquest not necessary. GEORGE L. FOREST, plasterer, residing at 31 George Street was found on the W. Md. tracks yesterday morning, between the coal chutes and West Antietam Street, in dying condition. He was identified by his son, Paul. He was seen at once by Dr. H.E. Derr, who was instantly summoned, that the man's both legs were cut off a little above the ankles. He was removed to the luggage room nearby and the physician bound up one leg and ordered him to the hospital. The ambulance of C.M. Suter & Sons was summoned. The injured man, however, died before the hospital was reached. Death was caused by shock. Mr. Forrest was on his way to work on a house of Mr. Philhour in West End, and was walking out the railroad track. It is not known what train ran over him. The last two trains passing the point were freight trains No. 323 and No. 332. Both were east bound and it is likely it was one of those. He was 58 years old, and leaves wife and four children. He was born in Vicksburg, Miss, and came to Hagerstown from Ohio several years ago. The body was removed to his home by Undertaker Suter.
