Bio

Theresa Elizabeth Lietzke, 94, of Kingfisher died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, at Cimarron Nursing Center in Kingfisher. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, with both services held at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher. The Rev. Francis Nguyen and Deacon Terry Rice officiated. Burial followed in Kingfisher Cemetery, under direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home in El Reno. She was born May 15, 1920, at Reeding to Joseph and Bertha Buettner Kauper. She lived most of her life in Kingfisher. She held various jobs during her life including billing clerk for Pioneer Telephone and greeter and cashier for Walmart. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Mueggenborg and husband Harold of Okarche; two sons, Bill Garms and wife Mary of Hilltop Lakes, Texas, and Kenneth Garms and wife Jenneth of Kingfisher; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husbands, Bill Garms and John Lietzke. Published in The Kingfisher Times and Free Press on January 29, 2015.
