Ronnie Gene Allen, 80, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. Born in Texas, Mr. Allen had lived in the Oxford area since 1966. He came to Oxford as a retail store manager and was a lifelong entrepreneur having owned a pet store, Handy Andy, Comanche Pottery and various other businesses. Things that Mr. Allen enjoyed were working in his yard and around the pool and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and most recently had attended The Orchard, where he planned to return when he recovered. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 31, 2015, 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. at The Orchard in Oxford, MS with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. at The Orchard. Pat Ward will officiate. Interment will be in the Garden of Memories. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patricia "Pat" Allen of Oxford, MS; two sons, Patrick Allen of Oxford, MS and Kelly Allen of Baton Rouge, LA; three daughters, Ronda Rehmani of Oxford, MS, Samantha West of Clarksdale, MS and Tuesday Arizaga of Oxford, MS; one sister, Charlotte Kizer of Smyer, TX; one brother, Don Allen of Comanche, TX; 12 grandchildren. His parents, Harvey and Gracie Allen, preceded Mr. Allen in death.
