Bio

Margaret was the daughter of Jonas and Martha Dickey. Margaret and David were divorced. ∼ Margaret was killed by her second husband after they had divorced. (See "Defiance County Murders") Murder-Suicide; Margaret was shot by her second husband David S Shappell who then committed suicide by gun shot after they had divorced. Her name is on the stone of her first husband, George Washington Essex who is buried at Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Oakwood, Ohio. Actual burial and original gravestone is in old north section of Riverside Cemetery in Defiance.
