Helen Frances Zmolek, 89, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Visitation will be at 9 a.m., Friday, January 23, 2015, in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Helen was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late Frank and Stefanie (Zabojnik) Dolezalik. Helen grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School. On January 31, 1948, she married Bob R. Zmolek. They made their home in Dallas, Texas, for a few years before settling on their family farm in Alma, Texas. Helen worked for Sears, Roebuck & Company for a number of years. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and KJZT. Helen enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking for her family. She made everyone feel welcome around the kitchen table when the family gathered. She was preceded in death by her brother, Frankie Dolezalik; and son-in-law, Mark Valek. Survivors include her husband, Bob R. Zmolek; son, Ronnie Zmolek and wife, Susan, of Ennis; daughters: Cindy Valek, of Ennis, Anita Zmolek, of Dallas, and Elaine Bussy and husband, Scott, of Austin; grandchildren: Rebecca and Catherine Valek, and Meredith and Brenner Bussy; sister, Georgie Zabojnik; other relatives and many friends.
