Peters, 73, Council Bluffs, passed away May 26, 2006, at Veterans Medical Center in Omaha, Neb. Donald was born August 31, 1932 in Russellville, MO to the late Raymond and Leona (Conkling) Peters. He had resided in Council Bluffs most of his life, graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1951. He was a Korean War Veteran of Army service. He was owner and operator of Peters Sign Co. in Omaha for 35 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 737; served as a leader in several Bible Studies;also a leader for A.A. groups. Survivors include daughters, Debra Drew of Auburn,GA, Lisa Peters of Dahlonega, GA; grandson, Nathaniel Rice of Dahlonega, GA. Donald was preceded in death by a brother, Sherman Peters. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, 11:00 A.M. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 517 So. 32nd St. Rev. Aaron SimonsPastor, officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, with graveside military honors by V.F.W. Post 737, followed by a luncheon at the church. Memorials may be offered to Westminster Presbyterian Church.
