Bio

Son of William Jake Amburn and Elizabeth Ida May Vineyard. Served in US Army in WWI. The Texas Mesquiter 4 Jul 1919 Former Mesquite Boy Is Dead In Arizona Joseph A. Amburn, a well-known former Mesquite boy, died Saturday at Phoenix, Arizona, after a lingering illness. Deceased for years made his home with his uncle, E. D. Paschall, and had many friends who will learn of his death with regret. He is survived ny a sister, Miss Nellie Amburn, a member of the Paschall household. The dead boy went in the first draft in 1917 to Camp Travis, where he contracted pneumonia, which developed into tuberculosis, in search of relief from which he went to Arizona. The remains arrived at 2 o'clock yesterday and interment will take place in the Long Creek cemetery from the Ed. D. Paschall home today.
