Funeral Services Here Today for R.L. Criswell Final rites for R.L. Criswell, 64, of Hereford will be held at 3 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Howard Scott, pastor, officiating. Mr. Criswell died Friday afternoon in a hospital at Wichita Falls. He had been ill since 1951. He was injured then when a horse fell on him. He lived in Hereford from August 1953, to June of this year. He was a retired rancher and came here from Throckmorton County. Mr. Criswell was born Dec. 8, 1892 [sic], in Flatonia. His son Dalton was head football coach at Hereford for two years, 1949-51. He is now teaching at Andrews. Other survivors include his wife of Hereford; another son, Dr W.A. Criswell of Bay City; two daughters, Mrs. Allen Whitaker and Mrs. Charles Soehengen, both of Borger and six grandchildren. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery. Gililland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
