Bio

Services for Frances R. Grice will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Eastside Baptist Church. Officiating will be Bro. Larry Hinton and Rev. Tim Emmons. Born October 27, 1917, at Shady Dale, Mrs. Grice died Monday at the Love County Health Center, Marietta, at the age of 76. She was the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Cora Robinson Tipton. Mrs. Grice grew up in Love County and lived in California for 21 years before returning to Marietta in 1971. A nurse, she worked as an inhalation therapist at the Love County Health Center for many years and was a volunteer with the Big Five. She married Earl Grice in Love County in 1933. Mrs. Grice was a devoted Christian and attended the Church of Christ. She is survived by her husband, Earl Grice of the home; three sons, Fred Grice of Marietta, Roy Grice of Ardmore and Jerry Grice of Auburn, California; two daughters, Karen Lawler of Stillwater and Katherine Callen of Marietta; five brothers, Doc Tipton and Murray Tipton of Marietta, Odell Tipton and Leo Tipton of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Billy Tipton of Weatherford, Texas; a sister, Birdie Mitchell of Wichita Falls; 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
