Bio
Edith Mary Atkins was in Bend, Oregon, to John and Maria Bradetich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; and her youngest son, Timothy. Edith was a homemaker for 64 years and devoted her life to her family. She could always be found in the kitchen cooking or outside tending her rose garden. She treasured moments with family and friends. Of all the Mothers in the world, God gave us the very best one to call, "Mom" We were truly blessed and are forever thankful. This "Great Lady" leaves behind her children, Shirley and Richard Gregory of Fresno, John Atkins of Fremont, Ca., Linda and Dan O'Neal of Springfield, Or., Cecil and Jackie Atkins of Fresno, Rose and Stan Leisle of Clovis, Richard and Jennifer Atkins of Fresno; and her sister, Betty Slate of Bend, Or. She also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Stephens & Bean Chapel on Sunday, February 15, 2009, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at The Cross Church on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Heart Association, 7425 N.
