Bio
Maxine Reading White, 87, of Bay City died November 17, 2003 at her residence. She was born April 3, 1916 in Belton, Bell Co., Texas to the late James O. and Rosa Robinson. Mrs. White was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and a resident of Bay City since 1940. She was a charter member of the Junior Service League. Survivors include: her husband, Glen I. White of Bay City; daughters and sons-in-law, Phoebe Reading and John Taylor and Patricia Reading and Joseph Blanford all of Houston; step-daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca White and Chris Floyd of Deer Park; seven grandchildren, Blake Reading Brown of Praque, CZ Republic, Courtney Hale Brown and Barrett Allison Blanford of Houston, Carlie Patricia Blanford of Nashville, Tennessee, Chris Floyd, II, Shawn Floyd, and Tabitha Floyd Spence all of Houston; one great grandchild, Hannah Floyd of Houston. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry L. Reading, Jr. and by her daughter, Rebecca Ann Reading. Funeral service was held 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at St. Mark's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Rev. Bruce Bonner officiating. Interment followed at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers were Frank Hurley, III, E.M. Huitt, Mike Brady, Taylor Evans, and Jim Breeden. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2400 Augusta Drive, Suite 175, Houston, Texas 77057. The family would like to thank the wonderful care givers that were with our mother these last few years, Symolia and Myrtle Hawkins, Margie Robinson, and Dorothy Walker. Arrangements were with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.
