Marietta Monitor December 21, 2001 Services for E.D. "Boe" Gilbert, 60, of Marietta, were held Wednesday, December 19, at Leon Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dwight Hawkins officiating. Mr. Gilbert was born April 12, 1941, at Leon, the son of William Delbert and Edna Margaret Miller Gilbert. He died Sunday, December 16, 2001, at his home in Marietta. A resident of Love County most of his life, Mr. Gilbert was a retired, self-employed concrete construction contractor. He also served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Gilbert was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons, Dal Gilbert and Greg Gilbert; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanna and Denny Ray Hester and Kim Gilbert; a stepdaughter and step son-in-law, Lauri and Pual Conway; two brothers, Charles Gilbert and Johnny Gilbert; a sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and B.J. Emberling; and eight grandchildren, Jesse, Dray, Niki, Taylor, Brent, Shannan, Ty Reid and Lexie. Mr. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Darryl Mack Gilbert, on August 7, 2001. Interment was in Leon Cemetery under the direction of Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home, Marietta.
